‘Cause of what we’re doin’ to the Union that he fought to save
And how his party uses fear and hate to enslave.
The truth is sad-ly gone.

What have they done to the party that Lincoln gave us?
They have heaped upon themselves unimaginable disgraces
And have turned it into the party of Jefferson Davis.
Decency is sadly gone.

The Confederacy kept its promise, it has again arisen –
Just look at who it is that we put into prison
And all ways we’re poisoned by the blight of racism.

Abolitionists, black and white, ended slavery,
But it lives on in the lies of the “Lost Cause” knavery.
Xenophobes and racists keep us all from being free.
   Pray we will one day see the dawn.
