Point of no return

And the decency

With humanity

Without warning of what
He might do to you
And while hiding his face
Like some cowards do
“Dude, I’m not mad at you”
Witnessing cruelty and rage
Like a five alarm
While every bone within
Is screaming Do No Harm
No harm
Like the soldiers you’ve helped
To eternal rest
Could it be you’re facing down
Your final test?
Today
When your innocent sister
Is on the ground
The kindness in your voice
Is the only sound
Tell me, “Are you ok?
When you never know
What you’re gonna find
What might be the last words
You leave behind?
